Thought I’d take on the challenge of preaching the text in Lamentations 3:23-33 this Sunday. I came across a really helpful paper by Walter Brueggemann, The Costly Loss of Lament, which reflected on what we have lost in our modern culture, in losing the prayer or song of lament.

Jesus gives his disciples a lesson in elementary mathematics. Exactly how many times should we be prepared to forgive? Time to reach for the calculators…
