  1. Sweet! Thanks for working on this so fast Tim. You rock.

Another suggestion: on my plugin file I added a class to the links for album and pics so I can style them differently if I want. So like this hope the code comes through OK):

    $output = “

  2. aw crud, I shoulda known the code would bork. Anyway I added class=”plog_album” and “plog_pic” to the link code. (Should probably add plog_sidebar too)

Again thanks for the work and the cool lightbox integration.

  3. I think it best not to add this. Like you others will style as they wish. I prefer to keep it simple.

  4. Hello Tim,

In april I posted a few replies on your message on the plogger forum about this plugin. My last question was if and when you were willing to adapt this plugin to be usefull with WordPress and Plogger installed in seperate databases. Any comments on that?

If not, I will try to import the Plogger tables.

Is it possible to adjust the size of the square thumbs in the sidebar or are they always the same size as the rest of the thumbs in Plogger? (I would like them to be a bit smaller…)

    cheers,

    Jack

  5. A number of people have asked for the option fo having plogger in a seperate database. I will try and work it into the next version.

With regards thumbnail size, it is just simpler to use the images that plogger had already made. If you are using square thumnails you could hack the code for the sidebar and add height and width attributes to the image. I might even work that in to the next version.

  6. hi, thanks for plogger press. I’ve installed it and I can get the photos to appear in the sidebar, but I’m having problems with using the tags , , , in a wordpress post. When I try to save the post these tags vanish and only the naked id numbers are left. What am I doing wrong?

  7. You probably have the rich text editor turned on. To use tags like this you need to turn the editor off and just good old, plain and simple tags to markup your content.

  8. Thanks for the tip. I turned off the rich text editor and the tags stay put (don’t vanish) now when I save the post, but the tags change to lowercase although I typed them in as uppercase. And in the post as viewed on the blog, only the bare id numbers appear and not the photo/album thumbnail. Do the tags have to be uppercase? If they do, do you know how I can get them to stay as uppercase?

  9. Yes, tags need to be uppercase. I have not come across your problem anywhere else. Is all your post content changed to lowercase or just tags? Is the change made when you save (i.e. pernament) or just when viewing the post?

Perhaps try disabling other plugins you have installed. Some other code somewhere is changing your content.

What version of WP are you running? I have 2.0.2.

  10. Whoops! I think I have found the problem. If you have the option turned on for WP to fix xhtml tags all tags are automatically converted to lowercase.

A bit of a stupid error on my part. The next version will use lowercase tags…

  11. Hey Tim,

I just imported my plogger tables into my wordpress database and now I’ve got your plugin installed!
    Take a look at http://www.spoenk.nl

I checked ‘most recent images’ but I think I’m getting the oldest images. Just to be sure I uploaded a new image into Plogger, but it’s not showing up in the sidebar, although Plogger itself shows it as the most recent image added.

    Any idea why?
Random images works fine, but I prefer most recent images.

    cheers,

    Jack

  13. Thanks. It works ok now.
Great plugin! Especially because it only delivers the images, the rest can be adjusted through css.

For now I also ‘resized’ the thumbs in the sidebar, just by adding a fixed width and height to the css for those images.

  15. I tried putting the call to plogger_press_sidebar(); into the sidebar.php file. But it seems that my installation of Sidebar Widgets overrides the sidebar.php. How can I put the plogger_press_sidebar(); function into the sidebar when using SideBar Wdgets?

  17. The sidebar widget wasn’t created by me. To insert code in sidebar put the function call before or after the if statement that checks for the dynamic sidebar.

  18. Hi again Tim! Thanks for your answer and thank you very much for writing such effective code! :-) I have a couple of questions though… Could you please let me know which file to put the function call to ploggerpress? I have not been able to find the if statements that checks for the dynamic sidebar in widgets/widgets.php

Also, could you please let me know how to get those white rectangular squares around the sidebar pictures? Which file do I edit to make that happen?

  20. You add the code in sidebar.php in your theme directory. Actually you can edit the file from the WordPress admin panels.
