Baptist Web Site Awards!

May 1st, 2008 by Tim 3

I’ve just discovered that the Baptist Union of Great Britain have been running a web site award for churches over the past couple of months. The winner is to be announced at the Assembly in Blackpool this weekend.

I must admit I had missed this piece of news, though somebody a couple of week’s ago had said they thought our church’s site had been nominated for some kind of competition. The Grand Final includes an interesting crop of web sites but I suspect none of them will make it into ChurchBeauty.

OK, so the best church web sites are not always pretty, but it helps. Would I be being rude to suggest there are some real shockers in this set. (Yes, I probably am being rude, but come on, in what world does this or this qualify for the “best” web site?). There are lots of great UK baptist church web sites out there. How come none of theme made it into the final? The whole thing is flawed! It’s more than that; it is embarrassing.

Anyway there is still time to redeem the voting (or corrupt it if your are a friend of one of these churches) by voting on the BUGB site.

I do hope the first prize is a web design make over!

Looks like Finchampstead won in the end. Congratulations! It was one of two I think that deserved to be in the running.

Your church website made it through to the regional finals and i had assumed it would amke it through to the final!
Apparently mine came third - funny thing is it is desperatley in need of a make over (old fashioned too many pages too many words……) and I have been playing in my spare time with one of your word press themes. One of my deacons nominated it!
