The One Way
I haven’t quite managed a lectionary graphic over the past couple of weeks, but here is one for this week’s gospel reading (John 14:1-14). This passage seems full of lots of phrases people quote a lot, but very rarely put together as they are here. At funerals you’ll hear the “many dwelling places”; fundamentalists will defend their way because it is “the way, the truth etc”; and then there is the “greater works” we are supposed to be doing. Jesus just says:
“I’m the way… look at me if you want to know the Father”.
We might be in a position to claim that we know the way, if we really were doing the kind of things Jesus did and in the way he did them.
The One Way…

You can also download a slide background for Impress (or PowerPoint if you haven’t caught on!).

You can also join in this weekly visual reflection by adding your own images to the flickr Lectionary Graphics group.

Nice site and good point on ‘knowing’ Him. You might like to bring these thoughts to http://www.thedailylily.com and read/comment on “How Free Are You”..all about really knowing Him.
