Transfiguration revisited

Transfiguration revisited

Jan 29th, 2008 by Tim 0

Matthew’s version of the transfiguration (Matthew 17:1-13) like the other gospels has Peter exhibiting his usual purpose-driven self, trying to suggest a programme of tent building when confronted with the glory of God. In Matthew’s version God interrupts Peter’s little project proposal (and PowerPoint presentation?), “While he was still speaking”, prompting a more appropriate response from the three disciples gathered to witness this mountain top event.

And so for this week’s Text Picture I turn to the image I produced last year from Luke’s gospel.
