it's all in extra.php inside the gallery div tag.

And yes it would be courtesy to leave the link the footer.

And some more questions, what size should the images be if we don't want them resized dynamically?

What files do I edit if I want to add more images to the slideshow?

Thanks again for a great theme!

I really like the Upsilon theme and am planning on using in an upcoming project. I don't see any mention of whether or not you require credit links in the footer. Do you?
I'm wondering if each page in the website will show the same slideshow, or is there a way to show different photos in the slideshows on each page?

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the fantastic Epsilon theme. I've used it to make a site for a small house in France (in Dutch for now) and I'm running into a problem with navigation. If you click one page in, the sub-menu appears underneath the header image. If you go one click deeper, the sub-menu disappears, which means visitors need to back-button to see it again.

Do you know if it's possible to keep the sub-menu visible when you go 2 clicks deep ? I've hunted around for a solution, but my PHP-knowledge isn't good enough, I'm afraid. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help,

Peter

Hey Tim

Nice work with Upsilon and friends. I notice that it uses the SmoothGallery 1.01. Have you played with the 2.0 version that JonDesign has evolved? I am not a programmer but do wonder how easy it would be to upgrade. Any thoughts?

Be well,

Tim,
with your tip re the checking for the pictures in my browser and another tip re javascript being case sensitive I looked deeper and found work.JPG had capitals for the extension that was why we could not find it. I could see another picture in my browser which had common letter extensions. This was because the extra.php file was looking for common letters. I changed the extensions in the extra.php file to match what was stored on the server and it came up ok. You can see it now. This problem helped me to learn a lot so God worked it for good. Thanks for the help.

It is strange, because it really doesn't depend on your server's functionality. As long as the images are accessible to read, SmoothGallery throws them up. That is the beauty of it, because instead of an ugly Flash movie it is just some standard HTML code.

I still can't see your images. I get a 404 error. My browser cannot see your pictures, so SmoothGallery won't work either.

The url of the image I'm trying to find is: <a href="http://www.portmorecovenantchurch.org/wp-content/themes/LivingOS_UPSILON/smoothgallery/images/shine/work.jpg
">here</a>. This gives a 404 error - not found.

You shouldn't need to change hosts to get this to work.

Tim,

I did as you said and my pictures appear in my browser.
I changed my permalinks to default and that did not work either.
The thing is the site works ok on my Windows PC using Xampp.
Can you recommend some webhosts on which this theme works ok as I do not think Lunarpages knows how to help me with this one.
I have tried other suggestions from this site and the smoothgallery site but without success.
I am still trying to compare source codes from other sites using the theme with mine but yet to find a solution.
The load bar in the middle of the extrasidebar suggests it is trying to load the pictures but is prevented from doing so.
Are there any permissions that should be set on the image files and folders?
Any other suggestions as I am not ready to give up yet even though this is my first site attempt.

I had a look at your site. The gallery simply takes the url of the images from the HTML code in extra.php. From where I am the images you have specified can not be found. To test it yourself, take the url of any of your images and copy it into the address bar of your browser. If your browser can't find them, the gallery won't either.

If the images are in the right place and you have the urls correct, try turning off the friendly permalinks. It may have something to do with how you set them up.
