I've made some changes to add better recurring events (see http://www.kieranoshea.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=98&p=449&sid=992a529d8a83c610d59a5ea2565e1c66#p449 ) and I really like it's approach, notably that you don't need to add a post to get an event, but you can tie events to posts where required. I suppose some time (when I get a moment, ha ha!) I should look at the iCal events parsing code (borrowed from another project) and see if I can manage to figure out how to add support for more recurring event types.
