What is the worst Theological invention?

Apr 26th, 2007 by Tim 1

Benjamin Myers has kicked off an online poll to establish what is the worst theological invention. What do you think? Is it Biblical inerrancy, double predestination, the rapture, Papal infallibility, Arianism, Christendom itself or Just war theory? Well you can have your say by voting. I won’t say which is in the lead at present, since that wouldn’t be fair . Simply vote anonymously.

I would say that the worst theological invention is theology itself, which is fundamentally not about Real God but only an expression of a mindset to which Real God is not completely obvious.
Thus to ask the question “does god exist” is to affirm the negative proposition that god does not exist.

The appropriate response to Real God as always already present Conscious Light is poetry, song, dance—-ecstatic celebration.
Not dry bones theology—especially any theology that prattles on about “sin” and how “fallen” we all seem to be.
