Blogging Your Church with WordPress:– Choosing a Theme
One of benefits of using WordPress is the vast number of themes that are available. There a literally thousands, so its easy to spend an awful long time picking a theme. My advice is, if you are new to WordPress, pick a theme to start with and focus on developing your content first. Then as your site matures, you’ll want to improve on the theme, either by choosing a new one or customizing it. In this post I’ll suggest a few ideas of where to start.

Theme Browsers
There a number of directories of WordPress themes. The official Theme Browser has thousands of themes which can filter based on your required colour scheme and layout needs. The browser also allows you to test run the theme without having to install it on your site.

Installing a theme on your blog
- Download the theme (usually in a zip file) and save to your computer.
- Unzip the file.
- Use ftp to upload the contents to the \wp-content\themes folder on your host.
- Go to your WordPress Dashboard
- Click on the Presentation tab and select the new theme.
